Raw Beauty

This was a model I did in a recent art and fashion show.  I loved this style and would love to see it on a bride.  We worked with the model's natural texture and added some volume using some props.  Her dread was a fun accent piece.  Love this fun look!

Thank you Tana!

These are photos from a bride I did last summer at the Boise Depot. Her hair was like a dream come true. It was naturally this gorgeous shade of red and cascaded down her back in perfect tendrils. I almost wasn't sure what to do with it. I wanted to create a style that would compliment the natural beauty of her hair and be something different from her every day stunning hair. Thank you Tana of Tana Photography. Salon Centric Show Boise

So I am not very good at keeping up on this. Maybe once a month is a better goal. So I apologize to anyone who has gotten bored looking at the same old stuff. But I have some great new photos to show of models I did for Matrix at the last Salon Centric hair show. I did the makeup only, but it was so fun to work with the Matrix platform artist Nick. He was amazing, as were our beautiful models. I am also making an exception to my rule of only displaying professional photos. But I hope you enjoy these fun snapshots!

More to come...

Thank you to those who have become a "follower". I have been busy this past week doing fashion shoots. It has been so much fun and I cannot wait to see the photos! Unfortunately I am not able to share them just yet because, while my job ends at the end of the shoot, the photographers' jobs have really just begun. There are so many photos taken that they must edit..edit...and edit some more. But don't worry, as soon as I can I will share and tell all about my experiences. Thanks so much to Tana Photography, Cristi Dame Photography, and LWood Photography. Check out their links from my blog to see more of their work. And I will keep you posted as soon as I have something fun to see!

First Day On The Job

Tomorrow morning I teach my first group of makeup artists/cosmetologists in the Basics of Makeup Artistry class for Mirabella Cosmetics at Salon Centric in Boise. I am so excited, but also a little nervous. It is definitely one thing to apply makeup, and quite another to explain how you are doing it. I am looking forward to what I will learn from the class as well. I have never come away from a class, whether teaching or attending, without learning something new from the other amazing artists that are there. Just tonight I was reviewing my booklet and learning how to define in words what I see with my eyes. What a cool experience! If you are interested in having me do your makeup for an event, or just to get out of a makeup rut; feel free to contact me. Also, any stylists out there looking to branch out in a tough economy, let me know and I would love to share with you how I have made makeup such an important part of my list of services.

For all of this hard work and relentless search for knowledge in my field; I have been rewarded by being given the opportunity to train in depth with the creator of Artease Colors, and former Director of Education for Schwartskopf Color, Gerd Hoher. Today was my first day; and while I am both overwhelmed with the amount of information I have learned and exhausted from a busy weekend of work, I could not be more excited and honored to be a part of this experience. Gerd is truly an expert in the field of hairdressing and a genius when it comes to color. I am looking forward to gaining more knowledge and expanding my ability, and passing on what I have learned from this wonderful artist to other stylists.

Seeing Red

As we all know, Valentine's Day is only six days away. Some men are prepared, but many have no clue what their significant other is hoping for. This can be a high pressure situation, and one that many men hardly look forward to. I have created a solution with a Tribu Valentine Package. It includes luxury shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion from the No.4 Collection as well as a beautiful gift certificate for a consultation, haircut, and style; priced at $100 total for the package. The value for the gift is over $140, so this is both a great deal for you, as well as a great deal for your man! So start hinting and send him over to 620 Americana in Boise or call 208-331-9113 with questions.

Mirabella Basics of Makeup Artistry

I want to invite any licensed cosmetologists or current students to attend a class I am teaching on the Basics of Makeup Artistry. I will be using Mirabella Makeup and the class will be held on March 14th from 9am to 12pm at the Boise Salon Centric (formerly Maly's/IBandB). Tickets are $35 which can be used toward your purchase of Mirabella product. This is a great opportunity to get an introduction to the Mirabella makeup line as well as learn some great techniques to take with you into the salon. Makeup application is a great skill to add to your list of services as a stylist or skin care professional. Don't miss this chance to increase your marketability and gain more knowledge.

Number 4 Hair Care

I am so excited to announce that I will soon be carrying the hair care line Number 4. It is a beautiful line that delivers exceptional results. This is a luxury line, so it is one to plan for in the budget. But I have never been so impressed with a product line, from the scent to the packaging, to the way my hair looks and feels. And of course the ingredients are of the very highest quality, no sulfates, parabens, gluten; and it is a completely vegan line. Come in and see me to try this amazing product; you will not be let down. It is hands down the best product I have ever used!

A Beautiful Day in Boise

I had a great time on a beautiful day in Boise with this very sweet bride, and also had the opportunity to meet another amazing photographer. Brandi Reiland of Soiree referred this wonderful bride to me, who was so great to work with. We did a very romantic half up style on her and a classic makeup application using temporary false eyelashes to create definition. While I was working on the bride, Tana, of Tana Photography, took some gorgeous photos. See more of Tana's work on her website at www.tanaphotography.com. Thanks again to Tana for the photos and to Brandi for another amazing bride!

I am happy to share these photos of a bride who I had such a great time with! She was so great to work with and we had a lot of fun chatting about our Scandinavian roots (she is a native of Denmark and I am half Swedish). Obviously she is already a gorgeous girl and was so easy to work on. We chose to do a classic makeup application and an up style that would compliment her hair accessory. Her maid of honor was also so much fun as was her mother who had just flown in from Copenhagen. If you are interested in a similar style or would like to talk with me about your wedding, or if you are simply interested in updating your everyday look, you can call me at Tribu Salon at 208-331-9113.

Mirabella Makeup

I am so excited to share that I am now a member of the Mirabella Makeup team! I have been added as one of their educators for the Boise area and will be teaching some of the great tricks and techniques I have learned along the way as a makeup artist. I will also be working toward carrying the full line of Mirabella cosmetics. If you have questions about Mirabella feel free to contact me or visit their website at www.mirabellabeauty.com. It is an absolutely fabulous makeup line and, as you can see on the beautiful brides that I work with, it photographs incredibly well. Thank you for all of your support and don't hesitate to call or email me if you are interested in scheduling an appointment or a consultation for your wedding.

Many brides today want to look and feel relaxed the day of their wedding. I had so much fun with this bride creating a beautiful, laid back style that really reflected her personality and the feel she was going for. Thanks again to Cristi Dame for more amazing photos. Check her website at www.cristidamephotography.com.

Save It For A Rainy Day

I would like to share some photos of a bride I did last fall. We went with a beautiful wavy style with most of her hair down. I used some temporary extensions to create more length and volume and did a classic makeup application with the focus on her eyes. Thanks again to Cristi Dame for some amazing photos; and make sure to visit her website at www.cristidamephotography.com

Once again, I have moved my business. Starting the beginning of November I will be back at Palms Salon on Americana downtown. I am sad to leave Caritta, but due to some changes that were not beneficial to my business I chose to move on. I am really looking forward to working with Carol Caves again. She is such a talent artist, as are the other stylists working at the Palms. I am hoping that this will be a chance for me to be reinspired and continue to grow as a stylist. I so appreciate my clients who have followed me around to my various locations, and I am sure that they will love the Palms as much as I do. If you have any questions feel free to call me at Palms Salon at 208-331-9113.
